NUS Parent Trap event at the Parliament

On 4th February, the NUS (National Union of Students) held an event at the Scottish Parliament to launch their campaign for more support for childcare costs for parents in further and higher education, a campaign strongly supported by OPFS
NUS are calling for the current system of discretionary support for students in further education to be replaced with a clearer, more predictable and more generous system of support. This is particularly important because the numbers of mature students are rising rapidly and many lone parents are keen to improve their qualifications before they are required to seek employment.
